Papyrus Closing Stores, Including 3 In Bergen County
Locations in Paramus, Hackensack and Ridgewood are among the 254 Papyrus stores that will close.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ - Upscale stationary store Papyrus is reportedly closing all of its stores across the country, including its three locations in Bergen County.
Locally, the chain's three stores - in Hackensack at the Shops at Riverside, in Ridgewood on East Ridgewood Avenue and in Paramus at Westfield Garden State Plaza – will shut down.
There's no word yet when the stores will officially close, but there are already sales underway to move merchandise.

In the letter to employees, Schurman Retail Group COO Dominique Schurman said the closings were due to the "current challenges of the retail industry," according to Retail Dive.
The company, which once had 450 locations, is down to 254 stores, which are currently in liquidation, according to Fortune.

Papyrus hadn't issued a formal statement announcing the closings as of Tuesday, Fortune reported, but the website now state that all sales are final and no returns or guarantees will be honored. A 20 percent off storewide sale was also happening on the Papyrus website.
