Ramapo, Indian Hills Move To Remote Learning After COVID-19 Cases
Athletics are also suspended as remote learning is instituted at both district schools. Here's what you should know.
OAKLAND, NJ — Both schools in the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District were closed for two weeks after positive coronavirus tests were reported, the district announced in two separate letters. Remote learning has been instituted as of this week.
At Indian Hills High School, communication was sent to the district Monday after officials learned that a second person at the school had tested positive for the coronavirus. Officials didn't say whether that person was a student or employee.
As for Ramapo High School, the district reported that the school is dealing with "a cluster of laboratory confirmed positive cases."

"The cluster of cases have emerged over the last 14 days. At this point in time, our investigation has not revealed a clear connection between several of the reported cases," officials said in a letter.
Both schools have transitioned to remote learning, with Indian Hills students starting on Tuesday and Ramapo students beginning their shift Thursday. Neither school will return to a hybrid learning model until after Thanksgiving break.

Officials also announced that during this period, athletics and all other extracurriculars are suspended.
School grounds are closed to the community at both high schools.
Athletics can resume at Indian Hills on Saturday, Nov. 28, the district said, and classes are scheduled to return to a hybrid model on Monday, Nov. 30.
At Ramapo, students are scheduled to return to a hybrid model on Thursday, Dec. 3. It's likely athletics and extracurriculars will resume that day, too.
