Severe Storm Caused Downed Trees, Closed Wyckoff Roads
Though many in the township had their power restored by mid-morning, the Tuesday night storm caused other issues.
WYCKOFF, NJ — More than 300 customers reported outages after a severe store moved through New Jersey on Tuesday night. By mid-morning, a majority of Wyckoff residents had their power restored, but the storm caused other issues for officials and residents.
Township officials reported that there were still "many trees down and several streets closed" following the storm. This was somewhat common across the state and region, with downed trees causing delays for NJ Transit on Tuesday night, and closing roads in Wayne Township.
As for those still without power, Orange & Rockland estimates that it should be restored by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, while PSE&G estimates it should be restored by 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Worse yet, there could be more weather on the way, as the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory and severe thunderstorm watch throughout most of New Jersey. This comes as Tropical Storm Elsa travels up the Florida coast on Wednesday. The storm is expected to reach coastal areas of New Jersey sometime between Thursday at 8 p.m. and Friday.
A heat advisory was issued at 4:37 a.m. on Wednesday by the National Weather Service for 15 New Jersey counties — including Bergen — and is in effect until 8 p.m. today as daytime temperatures between 98 to 102 are expected.
