Storm Watch in Effect With More Snow Coming

Up to 5 inches of snow forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday

A winter storm is expected to hit the area Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing ice, sleet, freezing rain and more than five inches of snow, forecasts say.

Snowfall will likely begin around sunrise Tuesday with light snow and sleet continuing through the day. The heaviest precipitation of snow, sleet and freezing rain will hit the region Wednesday, according to a Winter Storm Watch from the National Weather Service.  The storm watch will be in effect from Tuesday morning to Wednesday night.

Driving could become dangerous with a half an inch of ice possible on area roads, the weather service said. Ice buildup could also knock down tree limbs and power lines.
