Police issued tickets to drivers in two fatal accidents that occurred a month apart. Additional charges are pending investigation in the accident that killed Marcus Ruta, of Hawthorne. Hawthorne officials extended their thanks to the borough for its kindness and compassion following the Jan. 24 accident that claimed a recent Hawthorne High School graduate.

In positive news, James Azarian, the local boy who had a bone marrow transplant in December, is on the road to recovery
