Volunteer Honored in Passing

Department mourns loss of 20 year member.

Flags are a half-staff and the memorial  bunting is up at the firehouse in honor of Pete Rosenblum, a 20-plus year veteran of the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department who passed away on May 17.  He was 71. 

According to his obituary, Peter was born in Brooklyn and lived in  Old Bridge before moving to Franklin Lakes in 1988. Before retiring, he was a Paramedic with St. Joseph’s of Wayne. 

He was a volunteer firefighter in the borough since moving here and also a fire inspector for 17 years. He was involved with many fire safety programs and also the Read Across America program.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, his children, David Rosenblum and his wife Debi of Arizona, Audra Rosenblum of Old Bridge, NJ, Michele DeRosa and her husband John of Fair Lawn, and Mary Lemin and her husband Tim of Franklin Lakes and seven grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Friday at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
