Wyckoff Library to Close Doors on Feb. 28
Will Open Temporarily at Wyckoff Shopping Center on March 14
The first steps toward the long-planned $4 million Wyckoff Library expansion efforts are underway with the announcement that the library will officially close its doors on February 28 and transition into temporary headquarters at the Wyckoff Shopping Center on March 14.
The Township Committee voted unanimously last year to endorse the issuance of building permits to allow the approximately 6,000-square-foot project to proceed after on the total cost of the expansion.
A resolution approved late last year caps the capital project costs going forward at $3,950,800, which must be sufficient to finance all construction, furniture, professional fees and alternates, although the trustees will be permitted to tap operational funds to pay rent for temporary space. Any funding needed beyond that figure will have to come via donations and fundraising.
