Wyckoff Public Schools Resume In-Person Instruction Thursday
Here's what you should know before students move from their home learning environments to their respective school buildings.
WYCKOFF, NJ — In late August, Superintendent Kerry Postma announced a delay for in-person instruction for Wyckoff Public Schools students. Well, that delay is almost over.
Wyckoff students will return to in-person learning on Thursday, and Postma published a letter to the district community with a few reminders prior to their return.
Postma highlighted two pieces of a safe school return in particular: face coverings and a parent affirmation form.

The first of those items should be second nature at this point, as students will be required to wear face coverings while in district buildings. Face covering requirements are listed on the district website.
As for the parent affirmation survey, the district is requiring parents to complete a one-time "affirmation of compliance for COVID-19 Daily Screening."

The district announced a few additional items, which include:
Closed on Election Day
The district formally announced a remote instruction only day on Nov. 3, in compliance with an executive order from Gov. Phil Murphy which mandates all public primary and secondary schools to closed for in-person instruction that day.
Virtual Back-to-School Nights
Three virtual back-to-school nights will be hosted by the district in October, which includes:
- Thursday, Oct. 1, 6:30 p.m. for Eisenhower Middle School
- Tuesday, Oct. 13, 6 p.m. for Coolidge, Lincoln and Washington Schools
- Wednesday, Oct. 14, 6 p.m. for Sicomac School
Special Recognition
During a Sept. 14 Board of Education meeting, the district honored Vilma Fiori, Sicomac School Playground Aide, who retired after 50 years with the district.
"We thank her for her dedication to the students and families of Wyckoff," Postma wrote.
