Wyckoff Schools Resume In-Person Learning With Heavy Hearts
In-person learning started Monday, but the district is mourning the death of Sicomac School custodian Eli Moran.
WYCKOFF, NJ — Wyckoff Public Schools will begin the new semester with a hybrid learning environment, heavy hearts and 20 newly reported cases of the coronavirus.
In a letter from Superintendent Kerry Postma, the district reported additional coronavirus cases since the month of December while remote learning was in place, bringing the total number of cases in the district this year to 52.
Classes resumed at schools across the district on Monday, with in-person learning as the model.

But at one district school, things certainly weren't the same.
Postma, in her letter, announced that Eli Moran, a custodian at Sicomac School, died on Dec. 20.

"He was known for his warm and friendly demeanor, and he is dearly missed by our school community," said Postma.
"These difficult times in our community and in our nation remind us to continue to prioritize in our classrooms and our homes the values that matter most: kindness, integrity, respect, and good citizenship, to name just a few."
