Wyckoff Woman Is Mom Of The Year

WYCKOFF, NJ — We asked you to nominate a mother who you feel should be Wyckoff Patch's Mom Of The Year in honor of Mother's Day.

Mary P. O'Brien's kids, Jake, Grace, Sean, and Luke (two sets of twins) nominated her and shared her amazing story.

Happy Mother's Day, Mary.

"Our mom makes us feel special each and every second of the day. She is and always will be the rock of our family. No matter how hard it is on her. Our Mom gives so much to us, our dad, and any friend that needs help.

"Most of the time she gets nothing in return, and we forget what she sacrificed for us. Sometimes we forget about our mom and her feelings. We just expect her to cook, clean, and shop. We forget that our mom broke her foot, was in the hospital, unable to drive, and still got us to school and picked up from school. We forget or mom got us to all our sport activities and play dates, while on crutches for two months. We forget that Our Mom was sitting on the sidelines of all our games with that broken foot. We forget that there are four of us and she had to be at all four places with that broken foot. We forget our mom went back to work when our father was out of work.

"We forget to get our mom, birthday cards, Christmas cards, Valentines Day cards. But every year, under the tree there are lots of Christmas presents, every birthday the house is full of balloons and gifts. Every Valentines Day there is always lots of chocolates with a little note for each one of us. We forget how tired Mom is after a long day of work, and while we sit and watch television, our mom is out cooking our dinner. We forget sometimes to say I love you to our mom, even though she says it to us everyday. We forget a lot of the little things that mom doesn't. That's what makes our mom special. Because she loves us so much, that she doesn't forget about us or the little things. One thing we will never forget, is that our mom, is not just our Mom Of The Year, But she is our mom everyday.

"Being in our lives. Second by second. That's what makes her so special. We will not forget to nominate her for Mom of the Year! This is the little thing we need to do for her everyday. We will not forget to tell her how special she is any longer. She needs to hear it, and now she can read it.

"She deserves this spotlight because it is never shined on her. Her whole life is about her children, family and friends. Even though we should say it more than we do, we wanted to let everyone read how we feel about Our Mom and what makes her so special. All Moms are Special, We just love our mom. She's the best."
