Wyckoff's Dylan Hartigan Eliminated From 'The Voice'

Breaking: Being on 'The Voice' was the opportunity of a lifetime. This is just the beginning,' Hartigan said.

WYCKOFF, NJ — What a ride it was for Dylan Hartigan.

Hartigan's run on NBC's "The Voice" ended Wednesday. Coach Kelly Clarkson did not select Hartigan to move on to the top 12 and America did not vote to keep him on the show.

Hartigan, a Ramapo High School alumnus, sang "Mary Jane's Last Dance" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The soulful rendition had Clarkson beaming when it was done.

"You are such a talented dude," Clarkson said. "You have the ability to take a pop song and make it your own."

Hartigan thanked his supporters and "Voice" coaches Clarkson and Blake Shelton on Twitter after he was eliminated.

"Thank you all so much for everything," Hartigan said. "Being on 'The Voice' was the opportunity of a lifetime, and my gratitude for [Clarkson and Shelton] is endless. This is just the beginning. Rock on."

Hartigan's supporters went on Twitter with the hashtag #TeamDylan and #WhyWeLoveDylan.

Hartigan was originally chosen by Clarkson, but lost in a knockout episode. Judge Shelton stole Hartigan as he walked off the stage. Shelton then chose singer Wilkes over Hartigan in the next episode, but Clarkson saved him and he performed this week.

Hartigan made a special point of responding to as many of his supporters as possible.

"We just wanted to give you something back that you have given us times 100," Kara Kay Gibbs said on Twitter. "It's just fantastic the way you treat us and love us and try to make it so that we're right next to you on this journey."
