Albuquerque City Councilor Cynthia Borrego Launches ‘Lavender Libros’

Reading broadcasts will occur every Wednesday until State Health Order is lifted & possibly continue throughout the year on YouTube channel.

City Councilor Cynthia D. Borrego is launching ‘Lavender Libros’ a book reading project to demonstrate care and outreach to New Mexico’s children. Government administrators and community leaders alike will read a children's book available on the 'Lavender Libros’ YouTube channel. Melissa Sanchez, Executive Director of ABQ Westside Chamber of Commerce, is helping organize the project.

The reading broadcasts will occur every Wednesday until the State Health Order is lifted and possibly continue throughout the year on this YouTube channel.

Wednesday, April 22nd: Lieutenant Governor Howie Morales will be the first guest reader.

Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull, Albuquerque City Councilor Klarissa Peña, NM State Representative Joy Garrett, and Albuquerque Bernalillo County Community Schools Executive Director Danette Townsend, as well as other guest readers will present special readings on upcoming Wednesday’s throughout April and May. Every Wednesday will provide this at home opportunity to learn and lead with Lavender Libros.
