Albuquerque School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Albuquerque is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Albuquerque Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/7 - 8/11: Student Registration, Professional Development Days and/or Preparation Days
• 8/14: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/12 - 10/13: No School (Fall Break)
• 10/30 - 10/31: Middle School Student-Led Conferences

November

• 11/20 - 11/21: Elementary School Parent Teacher Conferences
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/18 - 1/1: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/2: No School for Students (Professional Development Day)
• 1/3: First Day of Second Semester
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/1 - 3/2: Middle & High School Student-Led Conferences
• 3/8 - 3/9: Elementary School Parent Teacher Conferences
• 3/26 - 3/29: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/30: No School (Vernal Holiday)

May

• 5/7 - 5/12: High School Graduations
• 5/23: Last Day of School
• 5/24 - 5/25: Weather Make-up Day (if necessary)
