2017 Oktoberfest Celebrations Across New York

Are you ready for some schnitzel, HUGE pretzels and Oktoberfest beer? Well, you’re in luck. Fall is upon us and Oktoberfest 2017 celebrations abound in New York.

The original German Oktoberfest tradition takes place every year in Munich. It’s a cultural extravaganza, and this year, its celebrating it’s 184th anniversary. Now that’s a lot of beer!

When it comes to celebrating the German tradition in the states, Oktoberfest events in New York are famous for paying tribute to the country’s heritage and rich culture, as well as serving up a ton of German food and beer.

Bonus: Have family members under 21? They’re still invited since most celebrations have things for the kiddos to enjoy, too.

2017 Oktoberfests Across New York

New York City Oktoberfest, September 22-24 & September 29th-October 2nd

• If you can't be in Munich for Oktoberfest this year, what better place to celebrate than the Big Apple? New York City's Oktoberfest celebrations aren't confined to just one weekend, taking place over the course of three consecutive weekends at the end of September into October. Come grab a stein, a big pretzel, and listen to some great German music right here in Manhattan!

Bear Mountain Oktoberfest, September 23rd-October 29th (Weekends Only)

• Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, Bear Mountain
• The Bear Mountain Oktoberfest is known across the NY Metro area as being one of the best in the area. Similar to the NYC celebrations, it takes place over the course of multiple weekends so you can choose which dates work best for you. So head to Bear Mountain and enjoy some great German beer and food!

Traubenfest, October 1st

• 89 Western Highway, Tappan
• Located in Tappan, the annual Traubenfest is another great Oktoberfest celebration in the NY area. There's plenty of beer on tap and food vendors to satisfy every craving you have. Live music is also played to keep you in a festive mood all day long.
