Marist Dining teams with alumna for campus pop-up dining
Students enjoy a healthy, fresh menu outside on a beautiful autumn day

Lauren Hoheusle, a '12 Marist alum, owns Chakra Bowls, a popular plant-based café located near Marist's campus.
In support of the local, woman-owned business, a Marist alumna, and healthy eating, Marist Dining organized a pop-up dining opportunity for students.
On October 1, Hoheusle and her team, following appropriate COVID-19 safety protocols, visited campus to serve students healthy açai bowls and avocado toasts.

"[Chakra Bowls has] been an experience I'm incredibly grateful for,” said Hoheusle. “Now, to be serving my creations at Marist's campus, where I graduated from, is such a surreal experience."

"I was super excited for the pop-up because we were bringing a popular outside retailer to campus to share good vibes and good food. The turnout was really great," said Emma Kittay, Marist Dining intern and Marist College junior.
Based on student satisfaction and the success of this pop-up, Marist Dining is looking to partner with other area businesses for future events.
