New York Couple, 94 Years Young, To Wed After Receiving Vaccine
Joy Morrow-Nulton and John Shults are ready to say "I do" after waiting until they were fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

KINGSTON, NY — Joy Morrow-Nulton and John Shults are ready to start their life together, worry-free and protected from the coronavirus.
At 94 years old and in the midst of a hard winter, the couple fell in love and recently became engaged, according to their story originally reported by Spectrum News.
But before they could get married, the couple, who have birthdays only 12 days apart, had one stipulation: they had to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

People 65 and older account for 8 out of every 10 deaths in the United States attributed to the coronavirus, according to data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Currently, more than 26 percent of Americans 75 or older have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
On Friday, the couple received their second dose and can finally start planning their wedding. Right now, they're hoping for a wedding in March or April.

“I’m looking forward to getting married to my wonderful woman,” Shults told Spectrum News.
Millions of New Yorkers are now eligible for the vaccine. Eligible groups include doctors, nurses and health care workers, people age 65 and over, first responders, teachers, public transit workers, grocery store workers, public safety workers, and people with comorbidities and underlying conditions.
