Albany Teen Drowns In Catskill Creek

ALBANY, NY — An Albany teenager drowned July 4 in the Catskills Creek in Greene County. Authorities said Nay Htoo, 18, of Albany, slipped on rocks and fell into about 4 feet of water sometime between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Htoo was with family members at the creek, about a 40-minute walk from Route 23, the Daily Freeman reported.

His family was able to pull him out of the creek, but when rescuers arrived Htoo was declared dead at the scene.
