City Of Albany Launches 2020 Cash For Coats Drive

Albany, NY– Mayor Kathy Sheehan and program partners announce details for the 2020 Cash for Coats Drive, a community-based initiative designed to collect funds to purchase new winter clothing items for Albany school children in need. Presented by the City of Albany, Lodge’s Department Store, Burke Companies, The United Way of the Greater Capital Region and Dr. Edward Wladis. This year’s Cash for Coats Drive will take place for the month of October through November 6th.

For 12 years, the City of Albany and its partners have proudly facilitated the purchase and distribution of over 8,000 NEW, quality winter coats and tens of thousands of new winter accessories to Albany’s children in need. Last year garnered the initiative’s largest amount of monetary donations from committed corporate sponsors and private donors. Once again, we are asking for you and your network’s assistance in surpassing last year’s collection by donating to this worthy cause.

Donations to the Cash for Coats drive are made possible by United Way! Here's how you can contribute toward the purchase of winter clothing:

Kindly forward your donation by Friday, November 6th, so that we may begin the purchasing process. One hundred percent of your contribution goes toward the purchase of winter clothing.
