Cohoes Man Arrested In Albany On Multiple Drug Charges

A probably cause to search the vehicle was established by police after a traffic stop.

ALBANY, NY – State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the City of Albany for a moving violation aroudn 3:40 a.m. July 30. During the interviewing of the driver for the traffic violation probable cause to search the vehicle was established.

During the subsequent search of the vehicle, approximately 28 grams of marijuana, approximately 2 grams of cocaine and 15 grams of MDMA were located.

The driver Christopher P. Gongoleski, 20, of Cohoes, was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany, where he was subsequently charged with:
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; a Class B Felony (2 counts).
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree; a Class D Felony.
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor.
  • Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 5th Degree; a Class B Misdemeanor.
  • Unlawful Possession of Marihuana; a Violation.
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs; an Unclassified Misdemeanor.
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violation.

Gongoleski was arraigned in the City of Albany Court and sent to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail or bond. He is scheduled to return to court date August 1.
