Farmstead Flatbread’s Tasty Donation to Glens Falls Center Staff
Popular Route 9 Queensbury Restaurant Thanks Front Line Workers in a Heartfelt Gesture of 28 Pizzas

On Monday, January 25, Jane Sutton, Owner of Farmstead Flatbread, formerly known as Sutton's Marketplace on U.S. 9 photo in Queensbury, and her staff donated 28 pizza pies to the front line staff at Glens Falls Center in recognition of their hard work during the COVID-19 health crisis. 20 pizzas went to the facility’s front line workers day shift and another eight pizzas to their evening and night shifts.

"Being able to give back to our local community is part of what makes small business thrive," said Sutton. "It was meaningful to make this donation to Glens Falls Centers because the staff is working so hard to keep some of our most vulnerable community members safe while also putting their own safety at risk. To provide a meal was our way of thanking them for all the work they are doing and furthering our work of connecting with the community."

It all began last week when Ms. Sutton made a call over to Glens Falls Center Recreation Director Marijo Natale because she recognized that another essential business, the nursing home, also worked tirelessly during the pandemic. Well-known for their tasty flatbread pizzas, the pandemic hit Farmstead Flatbread quite hard, like other food establishments throughout the Adirondacks and Capital region.

“This was indeed a heartfelt donation from a great establishment that’s also been hit hard by COVID-19,” said Natale. “I want to thank Jane for this incredible donation, the staff loved it and the overnight staff was especially surprised and grateful.”
