Help Develop A Plan To Improve Albany’s Riverfront

ALBANY, NY - The City of Albany’s Department of Planning & Development is holding a public meeting on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a study that is being conducted to assess the current condition of the Hudson River’s shoreline in Albany and create a strategy for restoring and enhancing the riverfront. It will also make recommendations for potential long-range projects to improve public access and park facilities along the Hudson River’s shoreline.

Your input is essential to create goals and priorities for this project. There are 3 ways to get involved:

  1. The Webinar – to participate, you need to register here.
  2. Click on this link to take a Survey to give your thoughts and input about riverfront improvements
  3. You can also talk to City Planners at these locations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to learn more to provide input:
    • Saturday, September 26th at Island Creek Park
    • Friday, October 2nd at Corning Riverfront Park

The project area begins near Island Creek Park on the southern border of the City and follows the river north to the Menands border. The project area width includes the Corning Riverfront Park and the area is confined by Quay Street and Broadway to the west. A draft plan of the Study should be available for public feedback by March 2021.
