10 New 'Affordable' Apartments In Astoria Hit Housing Lottery
The "affordable" apartments start at $1,600 a month for a studio, records show.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Ten new apartments in Astoria have hit the "affordable" housing lottery, but they'll still cost a pretty penny.
A mix of studio and one-bedroom apartments at 25-22 30th Drive are now open for applications, according to the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
The studios will rent for $1,600 a month, and the one-bedroom units cost $2,049 in monthly rent, records show.

Only households earning more than $55,000 a year are eligible to apply for the studios, and families must rake in at least $70,000 to apply for a one-bedroom apartment.
The building features a shared laundry room, rooftop terrace, elevator and gym.

Apartments include patios or balconies, dishwashers, hardwood floors and high-end, energy-efficient appliances.
The developer is slated to receive tax breaks in exchange for building the "affordable" units.
