12 New 'Affordable' Astoria Apartments Hit The Housing Lottery

Twelve new "affordable" apartments in Astoria are up for grabs — but only for families earning at least $65,000 a year.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A dozen brand-new apartments in Astoria hit the affordable housing lottery — but the units are only available to families making at least $65,000 a year.

Applications opened last week for the batch of twelve apartments at 31-19 37th St., a five-story building otherwise known as the Lilian, according to city and real estate records.

Rents for the "affordable" apartments are $1,900 a month for a studio, $2,050 for a one-bedroom unit and $2,400 for a two-bedroom apartment.

Families who manage to meet the requirements for those units will be able to enjoy such building amenities as rooftop access, a digital doorman, a gym, dishwashers and stainless-steel appliances, a bike room, a recreation room and a card-based laundry room.

Applications are due by Feb. 10.
