Hunters Point Sees Priciest Home Sales Outside Manhattan: Study
Hunters Point was the priciest area outside Manhattan to buy a home in the first half of this year, according to a new report.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — New York City's real estate market has slowed during the coronavirus pandemic, but home buyers in certain parts of Queens may still suffer sticker shock.
The 11109 ZIP code, which encompasses Hunters Point, snagged the title as the priciest area outside Manhattan for buying a home, according to a new report from the online construction marketplace Amast that looked at data from the first half of this year..
The median sale price in Hunters Point hit nearly $1.75 million between January and June, Amast found, though the data is based on only three home sales.

That's more than twice the borough's median home sale price of $710,000 in the first half of this year, according to the report.
Driving the neighborhood's ranking, which was 12th citywide, was the $3.4 million sale of a penthouse apartment at 46-30 Center Blvd., the report said.

The next priciest ZIP codes in Queens were 11105 in Astoria, which had a median sale price just short of a million dollars based on 39 deals, and 11375 in Forest Hills, where the median price of 68 home sales was $990,000.
