This Is Queens' Priciest Neighborhood: Report
A typical home in the area costs just shy of $1 million, nearly double the borough's median sale price, StreetEasy reported.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS -- If you want to buy a home in Long Island City, be prepared to shell out some serious cash - nearly a million dollars to be precise.
The industrial neighborhood along the East River known for its sweeping Manhattan skyline views is the most expensive in Queens, according to a recent StreetEasy report. Analysts at the real estate news site put the median price for a home in Long Island City at $934,500.
That sale price nearly doubles the $500,000 median for homes in Queens as a whole, StreetEasy reported.

Despite the neighborhood's high cost, the borough still remains "an ideal neighborhood for middle-income New Yorkers," with nearly half of its homes falling within median costs between $400,000 and $600,000, according to the analysis.
The report, which measured the most and least affordable areas in every borough of NYC, divided Queens into 53 neighborhoods.

Ridgewood ranked Queens' second priciest neighborhood with a $930,000 median home price. Auburndale ranked No. 3 at $918,000, followed by Fresh Meadows at $895,000 and Utopia at $875,000.
