Lottery Opens For 3 'Affordable' Apartments In Astoria

There are three new "affordable" apartments in Astoria up for grabs — but you have to earn at least $73,000 a year to be eligible.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — There are three new "affordable" apartments in Astoria up for grabs, but New Yorkers have to earn at least $73,000 a year to apply.

The three apartments at 25-34 Steinway St. hit the affordable housing lottery Wednesday, according to the city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Two one-bedroom apartments will rent for $2,150 a month, and an apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms will cost $2,849 in monthly rent, records show.

Households earning $73,715 to just under $15o,000 are eligible to apply for the apartments.

The building comes with roof-deck access, and a laundry room and storage units are available for additional fees.

To apply online, visit nyc.gov/housingconnect. To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to: MGNY Consulting, c/o 25-34 Steinway Street Apartments, 18 Bridge St, Suite 2D, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

Applications are due by Dec. 19.
