Babylon IDA Launches ‘Economically Speaking’ Podcast

New Informative Series to Keep Residents Apprised of Business Happenings within the Town

Babylon, NY (March 30, 2021)— The Town of Babylon Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is proud to announce its new podcast series titled “Economically Speaking” has launched. The information- and education-based initiative, hosted by Babylon IDA CEO Tom Dolan, serves to provide a window into the business community and the latest economic development news in the Town and surrounding region. The first episode, which features the newly appointed agency counsel and former CEO of the Babylon IDA, Matthew McDonough, is now available for download on all major podcast platforms.

“There is a lot of news being generated in the Town, especially with regards to economic development, and not all of it makes it way into the papers,” said Tom Dolan, CEO of the Babylon IDA. “The Economically Speaking podcast serves to inform our residents, the business community and really anyone in our region dialed into economic development a closer look under the hood about what’s happening in our hometown.”

The Economically Speaking podcast is a must listen for anyone interested in learning more about why 250,000 people and hundreds of businesses call the Town of Babylon home. This podcast’s episodes will discuss topics and the most pertinent issues to all Long Islanders such as housing, jobs, workforce development, real estate, economic inclusion, energy resources, business planning, transportation, small business loans, COVID impacts, and much more. Each episode features different industry and subject matter experts for an engaging conversation about the Town’s challenges and opportunities and how they can be leveraged for the region’s betterment.

As part of the Economically Speaking podcast launch and overall effort to keep residents and the business community apprised of its ongoings, the IDA also unveiled a new digital newsletter campaign. The newsletter will feature breakdowns and links to the available podcast episodes, and feature news section updates about Babylon’s downtowns, spotlights of local companies, as well as any new COVID-19 resources or guidance.
