$15.8 Million Bed-Stuy Apartment Building Up For Sale
A 28-apartment Dekalb Avenue building is another recent entrant into Bed-Stuy's busy real estate market.
BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A deep-pocketed buyer soon could hold the deed to a new six-story apartment building in Bed-Stuy.
The $15.8 million listing details all the new bells and whistles to 862 Dekalb Ave. — 28 apartments, three commercial units, an elevator, communal rooftop and terrace and private outdoor areas for most units.
It's built on the bones of a three-story brick building longtime neighborhood residents might remember from its "Crystal Steam Laundry" carving.

Developers got a permit for a "vertical enlargement" on that building, records show. The project ended with the current 24,885-square-foot property between Throop Avenue and Marcus Garvey Boulevard now on the market. Ariel Property Advisors is retained to sell the building.
Bed-Stuy last year led property sales in Brooklyn — a boom that has displaced many longtime residents.
