Affordable Apartments Available In Brooklyn For Those Making $18K
Dozens of apartments have hit the affordable housing lottery near Bed-Stuy, including some for those making as low as $18,000 a year.

BROOKLYN, NY — Dozens of apartments have hit the affordable housing lottery on Eastern Parkway, some for those making as low as $18,000 per year.
The building, Harry T. Nance Apartments, joined the listings on the city's affordable housing lottery program this week.
It includes more than 50 studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom spots for those making between 30 percent and 60 percent of the area median income, or between $18,515 and $84,600 per year.

Most of the apartments — 34 to be exact — will go to those at the 60-percent income bracket, or at least a $31,475 salary.
The building includes a shared laundry room, an outdoor terrace, bike storage and an elevator.

It is one of several Brooklyn buildings currently on the city's affordable housing lottery.
Another, in Bed-Stuy, is The Garnet, which has nearly 100 spots open on Fulton Street. In that building, units are available at the 50-percent, 100-percent and 150-percent area median income bracket.
The Astra, also in Bed-Stuy, has 89 apartments up for grabs. Those units are available to New Yorkers at four different income brackets, including those who make 40 percent of the area median income, or as little as $20,160 per year for the studio.
