'Affordable' Bed-Stuy Units Available To Those With $97K Salary

A $97,000 annual salary needn't stop you from applying for the newest batch of "affordable" Bed-Stuy apartments.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A batch of "affordably" priced Bed-Stuy apartments hit the city's housing lottery but are only available to households bringing in between $70,000 and $150,000 a year, city records show.

Nine apartments at 348 Nostrand Ave. became available Friday through NYC Housing Connect, the city's affordable housing program, but only those earning 130 percent of the area median income qualify.

Five one-bedrooms that cost $2,000 a month are reserved for singles earning between $68,572 and $97,110 a year, couples bringing in from $68,572 to $111,020, and three-person households with an annual income between $68,572 and $124,390, records show.

Four three-bedrooms that cost $2,475 monthly are reserved for households bringing in between $84,858 and $149,890 a year, the listing shows.

Apartment amenities include dishwashers and washer/dryers, building amenities include a green roof, bike storage and parking, records show.

The apartment complex on Nostrand and Lexington avenues is a three-block walk from the Bedford-Nostrand avenues G train station.

Those who meet the city's income requirements have until Nov. 19 to apply.
