'Affordable' Stuy Heights Apartments Demand $80K Minimum Salary

This is the second batch of 'affordable' Bed-Stuy apartments with six-figure income requirements to hit the housing lotto this month.

STUYVESANT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN -- More affordably priced apartments that require an $80,000 minimum income hit the housing market this week.

Three three-bedroom apartments at 49 Rochester Ave. became available Tuesday through the NYC Housing Connect program, one week after three one-bedroom Bed-Stuy apartments with a $78,000 annual salary minimum became available. city records show.

The units on the corner of Rochester and Atlantic avenues cost $2,350-per-month and are only available to applicants who make at least $80,572 a year.

Three-person households can earn up to $122,070 annually, four-person households can earn up to $135,590, five-person households can earn up to $146,510, six-person households can earn up to$157,300, and seven-person households can earn up to $168,220.

Building amenities include access a card-operated laundry room and nearby transit options include the A, C, 3, and 4 trains.

The apartments are available through the mayor's Mandatory Inclusionary Housing program, which allows developers to construct larger buildings if a percentage of the units are affordably priced.
