It took more than two years for a home sale to break the previous neighborhood record of $3 million, set by a townhouse on Gates Avenue near Clinton Hill.
The record-breaking brownstone on Verona Place was built in 1899, and has city "landmark" status, meaning its original exterior must be preserved by its owners (unless they get special permission from the city).
Before the sale, property developers "completed a meticulous gut-renovation while maintaining the historic facade and staying true to the original architecture and spirit of the neighborhood," Compass wrote in the building's online listing.

A thank you to Compass for the images. And a hat tip to Brownstoner for spotting the sale
