New Bed-Stuy Development Hits Affordable Housing Lottery
The new building, which has more than 40 apartments up for grabs, is available for those making as little as $37,000 per year.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Dozens of apartments have hit the affordable housing lottery in Bed-Stuy for those making as little as $37,000 per year, records show.
The more than 40 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments are up for grabs in a building called "The Cascade G" that was recently built at 869 Myrtle Ave. between Marcy and Tompkins avenues.
It is available to those making 60 percent of the area median income, or as little as $37,886 per year for the studio spots.

The three studio units will cost $1,041 per month in rent.
For the one-bedrooms, applicants should make at least $40,776 per year, the listing shows. Those spots will cost $1,117 per month.

The two-bedroom spots will go to those making at least a combined $49,475 and the three-bedroom spots will go to those making at least a combined $57,189 salary. They cost $1,350 and $1,553 per month, respectively.
The buildings includes bike storage lockers, a shared laundry room, air-conditioning, outdoor areas, a rooftop terrace and an elevator.
It is one of several Brooklyn buildings currently on the Department of Housing Preservation and Development's affordable housing lottery.
Among them are three buildings on Troy Avenue, a Knickerbocker Avenue building, a development on Harman Street, a building on Nostrand Avenue and an a Ebenezer Plaza building.
