Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Buy Palatial Bedford Estate
The 19th Century estate comes with a pool and stables, a tennis court, eight bedrooms and 13.5 bathrooms.

Recently reconciled, Oscar-winning actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have bought a new estate in Bedford on West Patent Road, according to news reports and a spokesperson for Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors, who confirmed to Patch that the sale took place on September 30.
The couple purchased the new home for $11.25 million, which at nearly 15,500 square feet reportedly is more than twice the size of their former Bedford home on Guard Hill Road, writes UPI. The couple recently sold that property for $7.5 million; it was originally listed for $8.1 million, according to Zillow.

Their new home, a 19th Century estate on 13.28 acres, comes with a pool and stables, a tennis court, eight bedrooms and 13.5 bathrooms.

Listed by real estate firm Houlihan Lawrence, the new home’s initial asking price was $12.75 million.
News of the Douglas/Zeta-Jones purchase follows that of actor Bruce Willis, who recently bought two properties in Bedford, reports The Journal News.
Willis’ properties on Croton Lake Road overlook the Croton Reservoir and are not too far from the Douglas/Zeta-Jones estate.
