2 Police Officers Assaulted In Brentwood; 4 People Arrested: SCPD
The officers were trying to disperse a crowd of 30 people, many of whom were blocking traffic in the street, police said.
BRENTWOOD, NY - Two Suffolk police officers were injured, and four people were arrested at a disturbance in Brentwood on Sunday night, police said.
Police officers from multiple precincts responded to the area of Ross Memorial Park, at 200 Brentwood Road, after a 911 caller reported a large group of people gathered in the area at around 9 p.m., police said. Officers found a crowd of approximately 30 people, many of whom were in the street blocking traffic, police said. The event was not political or a protest, police said.
Two police officers were injured when they were assaulted while attempting to disperse the crowd, police said. The officers were treated at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and released. No other injuries were reported by police. Three men and one woman were arrested.

Devon Toney, 44, who is undomiciled, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot, second-degree harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Patrick Guillaume, 21, who is undomiciled, was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree riot. Kwajo Wilkinson, 44, of Bay Shore, was charged with first-degree riot, obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Esperanza Tricoche, 35, of Bay Shore, was charged with first-degree riot, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct.
Toney and Guillaume were held overnight at the Third Precinct and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday. Wilkinson and Tricoche were issued desk appearance tickets and will be arraigned at a later date.
