4-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck By Drugged Driver: Police
The girl was struck by a 19-year-old driver in front of her Long Island home Tuesday, police said.
BRENTWOOD, NY — A 19-year-old driver was under the influence of drugs when he struck and killed a 4-year-old girl in front of her home in Brentwood Tuesday evening, according to Suffolk police.
Christian Yanes, of Brentwood, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic northbound on Fulton Street at 6:50 p.m. when he struck Roussy A. Cabrera Fuentes in the roadway. Cabrera Fuentes was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and pronounced dead, police said.
Yanes was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Wednesday.

The vehicle was impounded at the scene. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555.
