7 Children Hospitalized After Crash Involving School Bus
A total of 11 people, including 7 kids all between 5 and 6 years old, were hospitalized after the crash on Thursday morning.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - Eleven people, including seven children, were hospitalized after a crash involving a school bus in Central Islip on Thursday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
A 2007 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Locust Avenue and struck the side of a school bus that was traveling southbound on Route 111 at 11:17 a.m., causing the bus to flip on its side.
The driver and passenger in the Civic were taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with minor injuries.

There were seven children on the bus, ages 5 to 6 years old. They were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and Southside Hospital for evaluation.
The driver of the bus and other adult on board were transported to Southside for minor injuries.

Officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section responded to inspect the bus.
