Brentwood Soccer Academy To Become Vaccination Site This Week
The pop-up site will be available to distribute coronavirus vaccines to local residents this week.

BRENTWOOD, NY —A new coronavirus vaccination pop-up site will be opening at a Brentwood soccer academy this week. On Thursday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that 12 more vaccination pop-up sites will be coming online at various community centers, public housing complexes, and cultural centers across the state.
Locally, vaccines will be distributed at La Espiguita Soccer Academy on 1795 Brentwood Road on Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This pop-up site, along with all the sites in the state, will be re-established in three weeks to administer second doses.
The Brentwood location is one of two new Long Island pop-up vaccination sites taking appointments this week. The second location is in Freeport.

Earlier this month, the first pop-up Long Island vaccination sites were established in Wyandanch and Long Beach.
"Community-based vaccination sites are a key component of New York's effort to ensure all eligible New Yorkers have a chance to get the vaccine quickly and fairly, right in their community," Cuomo said. "Social equity and fairness has been at the center of our response, but this isn't purely an access issue. We need New Yorkers to trust the vaccine and actually take it. We're tackling skepticism and distrust head-on through our local partnerships and pop-up sites and bringing the vaccine directly in the communities that have been hit hardest by this pandemic."
