Central Islip High School seniors
officially became alumni of the Class of 2021 as they celebrated their
graduation on June 24th. The Central Islip High School Wind Ensemble,
under the direction of Mr. Steven Muller, played Pomp & Circumstance
as seniors took their places for their Graduation Ceremony. The Wind
Ensemble then accompanied seniors Zen Ho Sang and Jeremy Sodergren for a
majestic version of the National Anthem. Members of the Central Islip
High School Concert Choir, directed by Mr. John Anthony and accompanied
by Mr. George McKenzie, sang a musical interlude, "Movin' On". Central
Islip High School Principal Timothy Lynam and Assistant Principals
Olivia Da Silva, Michael Blum and James Crawford, faculty and staff,
were joined by Board of Education President Norman A. Wagner, School
Board Vice President Michele Harriott, and School Board Members Fred
Philips, Daniel Devine, Glenn C. Mitchell, and Jim Musumeci, and Keynote
Speaker and special guest, Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D.
Sini, who wished the students well on their future endeavors.
Valedictorian Zen Ho Sang and Salutatorian Joe Martinez shared fond high
school memories in their farewell messages to their colleagues.
Superintendent of Schools Sharon A. Dungee delivered her inaugural
address to her first graduating class as Central Islip School District's
Superintendent, offering compelling words of advice and wisdom to the
seniors. The Board of Education, Administration, Faculty, Staff and the
Central Islip Community congratulate the Class of 2021 as they being a
new chapter along their journey of exploring new horizons and pursuing
their goals and aspirations!Â
