First Graders at
Mulvey Elementary School are enjoying an Outdoor Classroom" experience
using ergonomically designed seat/desk setups that can be used indoors
and out!Â

Early
this year to address the Social emotional impact COVID had on so many
of us, Dr. Barbara Leshinger initiated a schoolwide writing workshop
entitled, "Dear COVID." Students wrote letters to COVID addressing their
various experiences during the initial months of the pandemic.
Selections were chosen, illustrated and bound into a book that can be
borrowed from the Mulvey School Library, and viewed by the public at
the Central Islip Public Library. Mulvey Elementary School Principal,
Ms. Jessica Iafrate, who acknowledged the activity and thanked Dr.
Leshinger for overseeing the project, noted "We are so proud and humbled
by the words of our children."
