Middle School 8th Grade students celebrated Moving Up on June 23rd. The
students and their families were joined by Superintendent of Schools
Sharon A. Dungee, School Board President Norman A. Wagner, School Board
members Glenn C. Mitchell and Jim Musumeci, School Board Member-elect
Debbie Cavanagh, Interim Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum &
Instruction Leila Holmes, Director for Special Education & Pupil
Personnel Services Dr. Angela Austin, Acting Principal Brian Sells, Assistant Principals Jason Nemes and Donald Bahr, and Reed teachers and staff. Keynote
Speaker, Executive Assistant District Attorney for Innovation &
Inclusion Leslie Anderson, delivered a compelling message to students as
they prepare to enter Central Islip High School in September.
A special tribute was presented to the Brown Family to honor Physical
Education Teacher, Mr. Andrew Brown, III, as Ms. Shiobhan Donohue,
Advisor for the National Junior Honor Society, (NJHS), posthumously
inducted the beloved teacher, mentor and coach into the Reed NJHS. Â
