After getting through challenging year from the pandemic, on May 14, 2021, Ms. Atisha Robinson, (EOC of Suffolk, Inc.), announced a special occasion to honor Central Islip leaders, Reed Middle School's Garden Program, and the Peer Education Program. The student appreciation was a grab and go drive through event held at the Alfano Elementary School for the Central Islip High School, Reed Middle School and Mulligan Elementary students. Each student received a Chick-Fil-A bagged lunch, Leaders sweatshirts, and a book by Ta-Nehisi Coates entitled "Between the World and Me." Also honored were high school seniors who were given tokens from EOC of Suffolk, Inc. The following students were part of the Leaders Program: Chuk Amene, Russell Antwi, Ryan Antwi, Brian Castillo Kelly Gaussaint, Sydnei Gayle, Denis Jean-Baptist, Nahyma Metelus, Sianna Rosado, Aronel Rose, Justin Suchit, Monica Mauvais, Kayla Pollard, Salvatore Bartollotta, Jamie Harding, James Harding, Oasis Amene, Sophia Maghfour, Alison Cruz Ayala, Abner Cruz, Ibraham Balogn and Milagros Salamana. Ms. Robinson gave special thanks to Superintendent of Schools Ms. Sharon A. Dungee and Assistant Superintendent for Administration Mr. Matt Matera, and acknowledged Mr. Blum, Mr. Sells, Mrs. Mitchell, Mr. MacMonigle, Ms. Rios, Mr. Crawford and Ms. Massaro for their assistance with the programs.
