Â
With
summer vacation upon us, I would like to remind you of the importance
of encouraging your child to read a little each day. Research shows that
daily reading, even in modest amounts, helps bridge the gap between
school years and minimizes any impact in a loss of learning for
children. To that end, there are numerous enriching activities and
resources available for children to engage in daily at the Central Islip
Public Library. Please try to make it a point to bring your child to
the library so they will take advantage of the many activities offered
there.
Â
Also, Island Harvest will be offering grab-and-go meals at the public library.
Â
As
we look ahead with anticipation to the new school year, please take the
time to enjoy a happy, healthy, and safe summer vacation, and remember
to Stay CI STRONG!
Â
Sincerely,Â
Ms. Sharon A. Dungee
