Drunken Man Crashed Truck Into Home With Son In Car: Police
The 12-year-old was taken to the hospital after the crash Tuesday afternoon, police said.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A Central Islip man was arrested on Monday after crashing his pickup truck into a Central Islip home while driving drunk with his 12-year-old son in the car, according to Suffolk police.
Juan Gonzalez, 45, was driving a 2002 Toyota pickup truck with his son when he lost control and struck a home on 70 Brightside Ave. at 3:10 p.m., police said.
The child was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and will be released into the custody of family.

There were no injuries inside the home, which sustained minor structural damage.
Gonzalez was charged with aggravated DWI with a child passenger 15 years old or younger under Leandra’s Law and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Gonzalez is being held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
