Drunken Woman Crashed Through Home With 3 Kids In Car: Police
The 34-year-old was driving drunk with her three kids, ages 4, 5 and 8, when she crashed through the home Sunday night, police said.

BRENTWOOD, NY — A Bay Shore woman was drunk with her three children in her car when she crashed through a Brentwood home Sunday night, Suffolk police said.
Ashley Thomas-Smith, 34, was driving a 2004 Lincoln Navigator west on Blue Jay Drive when she lost control of the car at 6:40 p.m. and crashed through a home, police said. The Lincoln came to a stop on the lawn of the house next door.
Responding officers determined Thomas-Smith was intoxicated, police said.

Thomas-Smith and her daughters, ages 4, 5 and 8, were taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Thomas-Smith was being treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The three girls were not injured and released to the custody of their father. The Lincoln was impounded.

Thomas-Smith was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a child passenger under 15 and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
The Islip building inspector was requested to assess structural damage to the house.

ABC reporter Kristin Thorne shared a home surveillance video on her social media from the crash. According to her post, nobody was home at the time of the crash.
