GoFundMe Started To Help Family Of 4-Year-Old Killed In Crash
The girl, described as kind, sweet, and gentle, was killed this week after being struck in front of her home by an alleged drugged driver.
BRENTWOOD, NY — A fundraising campaign was started for the family of a 4-year-old girl who was killed after being struck by a car in front of her home driven by a 19-year-old who was impaired by drugs in Brentwood earlier this week. Suffolk Police said that Christian Yanes, of Brentwood, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic northbound on Fulton Street when he struck Roussy A. Cabrera Fuentes in the roadway. Cabrera Fuentes was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and pronounced dead, police said. Yanes was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. Reports say Yanes was allegedly high on marijuana.
Following the crash, Centereach resident Karen Villamil started a GoFundMe to help the Cabrera following the tragic crash. She described Cabrera Fuentes as a "kind, sweet, and gentle young girl full of life and dreams."

"The Cabrera family is battling through the worst kind of turmoil any family can imagine," Villamil wrote on the page. "During this time we are asking family, friends, and neighbors near and far to come together in prayer that the Lord will comfort our mourning hearts and be present during these times."
The goal of the page is to raise a total of $7,000 for the little girl's father, Ariosto Cabrera, her mother Catalina Fuentes and her siblings. In just one day, the page has raised a total of $1,155.

The East Brentwood Fire Department shared the fundraiser on its Facebook page, adding the following heartfelt message from Chief Frank Vasquez:
On May 26, we responded to the worst call I personally have ever been on. The crew of EBFD along with SCPD tried feverishly to save this young girls life. Unfortunately her injuries where just to intensive. The following day my entire Dept went to her vigil with her family and paid our respects. I spent time with her older brother who is probably about 5 yrs old and doesn’t completely understand what is happening. I cannot fathom what this family is going through. I beg all my friends, family and colleagues to give a little, every little bit helps. Roussy I am sorry we where not able to save you, may you rest in paradise!
