Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run Crash
The driver is still at large after the hit-and-run in Central Islip Sunday night, police said.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Central Islip Sunday night, according to Suffolk police.
A man was crossing Carleton Avenue in the crosswalk at South Research Place when he was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on Carleton Avenue at 9 p.m., police said
The vehicle then fled the scene, continuing southbound on Carleton Avenue.

The man, whose identity is being withheld until the next of kin is notified, was transported via Central Islip-Hauppague Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore in serious condition, police said.
The driver is still at large.
