Person Fatally Struck By Train Near Brentwood

BRENTWOOD, NY — A person was fatally struck by a train near Brentwood Tuesday morning, an MTA spokesperson confirmed.

The 5:11 a.m. train from Penn Station due Ronkonkoma at 6:29 a.m. was delayed east of Brentwood after a person on the tracks was struck by the train at about 6:40 a.m.

Service was restored shortly after 8 a.m. after an hour and a half delay. The person died after being hit by the train. No criminality is suspected.
