Wrong-Way Driver Charged With DWI: Police
The 30-year-old man was pulled over after he was spotted driving the wrong way down Express Drive South, police said.
BRENTWOOD, NY — A Brentwood man was accused of drunken driving down the wrong way on Express Drive South in Brentwood, according to Suffolk police.
A Highway Patrol officer was driving westbound on the Long Island Expressway, near exit 53, when he saw a 2002 Ford Explorer headed westbound on Express Drive South at 3:16 a.m., police said.
The officer drove his car eastbound onto Express Drive South with lights and siren activated, approached the Ford, which was headed westbound, and pulled the driver over, police said.

The driver of the Ford, 30-year-old Rafael Flores-Murcia, was arrested and charged with DWI, police said.
He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 18.
