1st Woman, 1st Person Of Color Sworn In As Tuckahoe Mayor

Omayra Andino is also the first Latina to hold the top office in the Westchester village.

TUCKAHOE, NY — Omayra Andino made history in three different ways Monday.

The 51-year-old was the first woman, first person of color and first Latina to be sworn in as mayor of the village of Tuckahoe, WABC 7 reported.

Andino, a Brooklyn native, will serve a two-year term as mayor.
